Dickie Walls DAOM Biography

Dickie Walls DAOM is a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with offices in Delray Beach, Florida.   He is a graduate of Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, and is Outreach Director and clinical instructor.     He did post graduate studies in Shanghai and Tian Jin China, with clinical training in treatments for stroke recovery, Bells Palsy and general acupuncture.

He specializes in pain management, neuropathy, Post Stroke Recovery, Bells Palsy, digestive disorders, infertility and aesthetic acupuncture.

Dickie Walls received his Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from Atlantic Institute Of Oriental Medicine (ATOM) in 2014.   He received his Masters of Oriental Medicine from  ATOM in 2002 and was president of the student association.   His close association with Dr. Johanna Yen (President of ATOM), and volunteer work for the school led to his becoming Outreach Director.   In that capacity he established charity training clinics where ATOM interns and physicians give free treatments at Salvation Army rehabilitation programs, and Light of the World Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale.  He initiated the Military Stress & PTSD Recovery Program providing free acupuncture for veterans in 2014.  His position has grown to include organizing public events to recruit patients for the ATOM intern clinic, and new students to the training program.  Currently he is working as coordinator providing acupuncture for the Light of the World program.

Postgraduate training in China:

Dickie Walls traveled to Shanghai immediately upon graduation from ATOM for postgraduate training at Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  There he studied with the Doctoral students in advanced techniques at Long Hua Hospital, and Rui Jin Hospital in Shanghai.  He also joined the clinical program at the International Acupuncture Training Center.  This is an acupuncture research center in Shanghai with specialties in infertility and treatments of the eyes.

In 2005 Dickie won a scholarship provided by the Chinese government and studied in Tian Jin China.   Here he attended Tian Jin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and did clinical rounds in Tian Jin Hospital.   This hospital specializes in recovery from stroke, and Bells Palsy.

Travels in China:

Study trips to China incorporated touring, and Dickie traveled extensive through China.  These trips proved to be amazing adventures, and generated a wealth of photographs and stories.   Absorbing the culture of China is as critical to understanding Chinese Medicine as studying the texts, and traveling has been a way of life for many years for Dickie.

Dickie Walls is president of Inner Space Acupuncture llc. and operates a clinic in Delray Beach Florida, treating a wide variety of cases.

Past Life Experience:

Prior to studying Chinese Medicine Dickie Walls live in the Cayman Islands for 23 years.  There he served as a dive master/instructor, owned and operated Inner Space Imagery, an underwater photography business, and was a photo journalist and audio-visual producer.  He became a pilot and flew his Cessna 206 extensively in the Caribbean, central America and the U.S.  He was a sales representative for many diving equipment companies and served the Caribbean basin.  His travels and misadventures will soon be available as a book.
